Ritter’s Cider Mill in Mount Cobb is a beloved family destination where children watch cider being pressed right before their eyes. (Not to be confused with Ritter’s Winery and Cidery) Operating from the first Saturday after Labor Day (September 12, 2026) through December 23rd, the mill is one of the best reasons to keep visiting Lake Wallenpaupack after Summer as the Mill becomes a gathering place for families seeking fresh-pressed apple cider, locally-sourced honey, maple syrup, and fresh apples.
Ritter’s offers much more than just cider. Apple pies, cider donuts, and other baked goods created on-site provide delicious snacks and souvenirs. There is also a corn maze, hay rides, pony rides and more!
So Ritter’s is not just about the cider and produce because your kids will have a lot of fun playing on the hay bales and checking out the animals. Currently, on Saturday’s and Sunday’s through November 1st they are featuring “Cow Cuddling” where, for $5 per person, you can get up close and personal with some of their adorable furry calves. There are also chickens, goats, donkeys and more. If you are planning ahead for some cool family photos, Ritter’s will also be hosting a visit with Santa and their cute cows on weekends in December. For 10$ per family you can take your own photos.
