    This is one of our favorite stops around Lake Wallenpaupack in the Fall and and a great reason to visit after Summer is over. Rickard’s Cider Mill in Honesdale represents family heritage dating back to 1929, continuing the tradition of fresh-pressed apple cider with prices that offer exceptional value to families. Freshly picked apples, homemade potatoes, baked goods, donuts, and generous quantities of cider make every visit worthwhile.

    The seasonal pumpkins, gourds, and honey are reasonably priced and round out the product selection ensuring families find everything needed for fall activities and celebrations. The relaxed farm-stand atmosphere welcomes families to browse at their own pace, encouraging children to explore and ask questions about traditional cider production.

(Not to be confused with Ritter’s Winery and Cidery) Operating from the first Saturday after Labor Day (September 12, 2026) through Thanksgiving Eve, the mill is one of the best reasons to keep visiting Lake Wallenpaupack after Summer as the Mill becomes a gathering place for families seeking fresh-pressed apple cider, locally-sourced honey, maple syrup, and fresh apples.

    Ritter’s offers much more than just cider. The small petting zoo allows children to interact with farm animals and learn about animal husbandry. Apple pies, cider donuts, and other baked goods created on-site provide delicious snacks and souvenirs. There is also a corn maze, hay rides, pony rides and more!
